Dear Friends of Haiti and Tentstohaiti.org supporters !

After seven months of response to the January 12th earthquake in Haiti, we’ve decided that it is time to stop sending tents and tarps to Haiti.

Our effort was a success.  Though we were not able to accurately keep updating the tent-o-meter, we did deliver shelter to many people who desperately needed that shelter in a time of great crisis.  Our efforts were so very much appreciated.  I was actually in Haiti during one of our tent pickups, and I went on several of the tent distributions.  I watched and helped families take down their sticks and sheets and climb into (at least for a time) something safe, sealed, dry, and mosquito free.

The tents and tarps were intended to be a short term form of help to some homeless earthquake victims.  We knew that the tents and tarps would not last long in Haiti’s climate.

After all of these months, the housing crisis in Haiti has not changed.  Thousands of people are still homeless and we feel that what are needed now are houses.

Please keep praying for the people of Haiti.  We thank you all for your support and ask that you visit haitipartnersmcc.org to continue monitor our partnership and involvement in Haiti.

Peace and Blessings from the tentstohaiti.org team:
